My friend’s husband suffers from chronic depression after losing his father, then his long-term six Figure job and he has not been able to recover from this depression for years, despite many different medications.
I’d like to see how this works out for you and perhaps suggest it to him and I also believe that you should keep documenting your experience right here on this page because this is about “one true artist’s daughter” and HER /your journey! And this is a part of it
I don’t remember if you did, but did you post anything on the Soul Quest Facebook page about your sub stack page? I mean, as far as I’m concerned you were a huge part of the Soul Quest community & played a memorable & pivotal role during peak times in my ceremony experience. Wouldn’t hurt to try it again to get more subscribers. I’m sure people are wondering what’s going on with you
I wish you all the best in your healing process and this treatment for your depression. I look forward to your next writings and may this be the start of new beginnings for you and your family!
Thank you so much. I have the deepest kind of hope that TMS will finally be something that is long-acting with a low need for maintenance after the initial cluster of 36 treatments.
From what I gather, TMS therapy is indicated for those who are considered to have Treatment Resistant Major Depressive Disorder. It may be good for him to get the ball rolling by asking his PCP for a referral to a physchiatrist who also works alongside not only TMS, but a therapist in their practice.
I agree with you. I believe my TMS journey does belong on Recollecrions of One True Artist's Daughter. I have realized that to start an entirely different Substack would be to fracture my life's experience on the whole for reader's to follow and attempt to digest. If it continues to live here, all the pieces of the puzzle will be accessible in one comprehensive body made up of many installations, whether it be TMS or my father's art, my childhood experience, etc. Thank you for your input! Another reader and friend contacted me privately confirming much the same thing.
I haven't posted on Soul Quest pages about this Substack. Perhaps now there is a substantial foundation of writings the cumulative body of this Substack may be mature enough to begin spreading the word.
My experience as both a guest and a facilitator at Soul Quest, before, is as we might say, "A whole can of worms." Some of those worms are the writhing snakes shedding skin of transformarion, and others are tough, gritty, and are a part of a traumatic imprint for me in themselves. I wasn't quite sure if I'd ever write pieces pertaining to that time and place in my life--however, it is a prevalent, valid and impactful in my life's history an the daughter of an artist.
Anyhow, yes, I agree, to post there on Facebook and let everyone know how to find the innermost me which I speak of these days, is a good idea. I suppose it is easy to assume since I am no longer in their sight, perhaps I am also not a curiosity on their minds, present day. So many have moved on in the most beautiful ways. I honor their journeys by staying more low key. The ones who are meant to find me again and stay here with me will do just that. I trust that. But, yes, I will consider making a post or two visable in those places on social media.
As always, thank you for the encouragement and love, beautiful friend.
